Did I ever tell you I HATE COMPAQ!!!!!!!! ? Well I do!!!! lol My less than a year old comp crapped out on me!!! It was fine last night, then this morn....windows would NOT start up-got a boot error-something in the drive got corrupted and wound up having to totally recover my comp to original settings!!!! Meaning....I lost ALL my files, pics, favs, EVERYTHING!!!!! I am so mad I could SPIT!!!!!!! lol Okay, not really...spitting is gross, but you get me. lol Oh well, what can ya do? STUPID me NEVER made restore discs either!!! Live and learn....then bit-ch out COMPAQ/HP for building POS comps!!! Technology will be the death of me yet...

Is it possible that you got a virus that caused all the problems cause thats what it sounds like to me happened

Yep...just bought a HP Presario Notebook in April. Already I've had to call them twice. First time, the loading screen froze, second time I couldn't connect to the internet...and it was because their software wasn't installed correctly. I was able to back up some of my stuff, my pics at least, but for some reason my docs didn't go onto the CD. It's burnt, but there's nothing there.
Anyway, I feel for you Cathy. HP is crap. And, I hope noone takes offense at this, but every time I call, I can't understand the technician, can't understand the dialect. The first time I called, the guy basically told me I was stupid, and that I wasn't doing things fast enough, or right.
Thank goodness right now I have a year warranty. Don't know what I'll do after that. Not by an HP that's for sure.
Sorry about all your lost stuff, Cathy. I've found that it's best to backup once a month. I had to do that at work EVERY DAY, but it's worth it if you crash.
